virtual classroom

What is a virtual classroom? A virtual classroom is an online space that teachers can use to support learning for their students. You must access it through the internet however it is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Virtual classrooms can contain group activities and independent learning activities. It can also have discussions over topics and chat sessions, online work and quizzes and tests. Virtual Classrooms usually also include important information like calendars and timetables, grades and other important info for students and teachers.

What can I say about virtual classrooms? Well, this class is one. It is important because we can access the information on what we need to do on our own time, we don’t have to be in a classroom at a specific time, as long as we have access to a computer with internet that’s all we need. It’s good for teachers too, because they can send information to many students that usually wouldn’t be possible or as effective if it was in a classroom. Also, if you were in the process of moving, or couldn’t fit time in your schedule to go to school, virtual classrooms are perfect. This class works out for me, because being that I am finishing up school soon, I have three classes I take on campus two days a week and the other days I’m working at my internship in order to graduate. So when I am at home and I’ve completed everything else that I have to do, I go online and take care of this class at my own time.

You did a great job on this blog! There are many benefits to virtual classrooms. They allow you to work at your own pace and on your own time. Personally, I perfer the virtual setting to that of the classroom. It does take a motivated and organized student to be successful in an online class. Students are not supervised to make sure they are on track, and they therefore must take a great deal of responsibility for their learning. They must actually learn the material for themselves. These virtual classes do build proactive students, and in the end they do obtain great study skills.

I read the same article too! I found it very informative on what exactly a virtual classroom is. Basically everyone at FGCU knows what a virtual classroom is. I agree with you that it is an easy way to take a course when you have a lot of other things going on in life. One thing that is difficult for me about online classes is that you have ton continuously check the internet and be on the internet. Great article!

Edward-

Great job! You are right that this is a virtual classroom. Depending on what school you attend, sometimes virtual classrooms are referred to as distance learning, online classes, etc... At my last school, it was called distance learning.

I think that virtual classrooms are great since they save a lot of time and money. I remember at the last school I attended, the distance learning classes gave me an opportunity to complete my degree at home. It was convenient for me and the professors. It saves everyone save.

It was perfect for my learning style, and I think that research should be done on whether or not this new "schooling technique" works for everyone or just certain individuals.

I really liked your blog post. I agree that virtual classrooms can be a really good thing in certain situations but it does take a certain type of student to excel in a virtual class. I think your article really showed the advantages to virtual classrooms.
